Why does my orchid have wrinkled leaves?

Accordion type leaves are usually a sign of a lack of humidity or watering. While producing new leaves your orchid plant needs steady watering of 1-2 times per week and a nice eastern light exposure. Old growths can also exhibit this wrinkled look as well. As the pseudobulbs grow large when the plant is young, they store water and nutrients. Over time these reserves are used, which can naturally give older growths this wrinkled look as well.
